Iurie Maxim

Iurie Maxim is a seasoned GIS professional with extensive experience in applications development and project management. Currently serving as a Senior Expert in Applications Development GIS at OMV Petrom since September 2021, Iurie previously held the position of GIS Manager at Essensys Software from March 2018 to August 2021, where coordination of IT projects was carried out for major clients, including the World Health Organization and the World Bank. Iurie also contributed nearly a decade at TeamNet as GIS Manager, overseeing the GIS Department and managing over 15 technical projects. Earlier roles include Head of Protected Areas Service at the Ministry of Environment and Forestry and Project Manager at the European Topic Centre on Biodiversity Conservation, where Iurie focused on the EU conservation reporting process. With a PhD in GIS from the Romanian Academy, Iurie boasts a comprehensive background in environmental management and GIS technologies.
