Hanns Peter Schmid has extensive experience in the oil and gas industry, currently serving as Exploration Manager Austria at OMV since August 2009, responsible for exploration and appraisal activities in Austria. Previous roles at OMV include E&A Senior Project Manager, Acting Head of Exploration Geoscience, Exploration and Appraisal Senior Project Manager, Exploration Manager Libya, Exploration Manager Madagascar, and various managerial positions focusing on North Africa Exploration and recruitment. Schmid began his career at OMV UK Ltd. as a Geologist, exploring the West of Shetlands and North Sea regions. Schmid holds a Master of Science (MSc) degree from the University of Vienna, completed in 2001.
