Stefan Grottendorfer has an extensive work experience, starting with their role as a Senior Process Engineer at VTU Engineering from April 2007 to July 2017. During this time, they showcased their skills as a Project Manager and Engineering Manager, specializing in the oil & gas and chemical industries.

Later, Stefan joined OMV in August 2017 as a Senior Water Expert, contributing their expertise until August 2021. Stefan then took on the role of Department Manager Surface Solutions from August 2021 to January 2023, where they successfully transformed the department's technology focus towards sustainable and circular business needs. Stefan initiated innovative technology roadmaps in CCUS, geothermal energy, and renewables to support the energy transition. Stefan also played a crucial role in developing the company's future technology portfolio in alignment with its strategy.

Currently, Stefan holds the title of Head of Surface Technologies at OMV, starting from January 2023.

Stefan Grottendorfer started their education in 1995 at HTL Wels, where they studied Chemieingenieurwesen. Stefan completed their studies there in 1999. From 2000 to 2007, they attended Technische Universität Wien, where they pursued a degree in Verfahrenstechnik and earned a Diplom-Ingenieur. In 2004 and 2005, Stefan also studied Chemische Prozesstechnik at Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV). Stefan has obtained a PMA Zertifikat from IPMA: International Project Management Association, although the specific date of obtaining this certification is not provided.
