Liga Cirule

Liga Cirule is currently the Design Team Lead at On The Map. Prior to that, they were the Head Librarian at Rīgas Centrālā Bibliotēka from April 2018 to November 2019. Liga has also worked as a proofreader and editorial assistant at Jumava Publishing House and as an English translator at SDI Media.

Liga has always been passionate about books and reading. Liga pursued this passion by studying library science and obtaining their degree in library science from the University of Latvia in 2017.

Since then, they have dedicated their career to working in the library and publishing industry. In their current role as Design Team Lead, they are responsible for leading a team of designers in creating high-quality maps and visualizations. Prior to that, they were the Head Librarian at Rīgas Centrālā Bibliotēka, where they were responsible for building and improving the electronic catalogue and the authoritative database, processing information resources for further use in libraries.

Liga has also worked as a proofreader and editorial assistant at Jumava Publishing House, where they were responsible for proofreading book materials for further publishing, office administration, managing copyright contracts, working with international publishers, proofreading and overseeing textual materials, maintaining the website, preparing for international book exhibitions, overseeing schedule for chief editor, arranging meetings with authors, artists, translators and other parties involved in the book publishing process, running errands for the

Liga Cirule earned a Bachelor of Humanities in Baltic Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics from Latvijas Universitate. Liga also earned an Art/Art Studies, General from Saldus Art School. Liga has certification from Digital Guru in Adobe Illustrator CC and from CodeAcademy in Web design (UX/UI).
