Abel Cruz

Abel Cruz has over 15 years of experience in the field of quality assurance and software testing. Abel is currently working as a Sr QA Engineer at ON24 since August 2021. Prior to this, Abel worked as a Sr QA Engineer II at Insight Global (onsite Oculus VR) from June 2020 to August 2021.

Abel also has extensive experience working at Apple, where they held various roles. From October 2018 to June 2020, they worked as a QA Test Lead, leading and testing features in Web and Mobile using Agile and Waterfall methodologies. During this role, they were responsible for driving the QA testing process with a team of 5 members and ensuring the highest quality standards for software projects.

From January 2017 to October 2018, Abel worked as a Senior QA Engineer at Apple, where they focused on the Front-End QA process for web-based applications. Abel attended Functional Specification meetings, performed various types of testing such as functionality, performance, integration, and regression testing, and collaborated with the QA Test Lead in leading projects and managing assignments to the QA team. Abel also created and executed automated test cases using Python/Selenium, performed mobile manual testing on iOS and Android devices, and conducted cross-browser testing across different platforms.

Abel began their career at Verizon Enterprise Solutions in 2008, where they held multiple roles. As a QA Lead from March 2013 to May 2014, they led a team of 10 people and was responsible for delivering projects to production. Abel conducted one-on-one meetings within the team, attended design specifications review meetings, and documented bugs with detailed steps to duplicate using HP Quality Center.

Prior to that, from January 2012 to March 2013, Abel worked as a QA Engineer at Verizon, leading a team of 3 people and delegating functions and small projects to other team members. Abel also attended project status meetings and design specifications review meetings.

Abel's early experience includes working as a QA Analyst at Verizon from June 2008 to December 2011. In this role, they attended design specifications review meetings, worked on different types of software testing, and performed tests using testing levels such as integration, system test, and acceptance test.

Abel's first role was as an IT Technical Support/Help Desk at Grupo hache in 2006, where they provided support for internal users with the company's system and resolved computer-related issues.

Abel Cruz completed their education at Universidad APEC from 2006 to 2011, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Engineering. Prior to that, they attended San pio X from 2001 to 2005 and obtained a General Bachelor degree in High School/Secondary Diplomas and Certificates. In addition to their formal education, Abel Cruz has also obtained the CSD (Certified Scrum Developer) certification from the Scrum Alliance in July 2011 and the CCNA certification from Cisco in October 2007.
