Andrew Hagen

Controls Engineer at Onboard Dynamics

Andrew Hagen is a Controls Engineer at Onboard Dynamics. Andrew has also worked as an Automation Material Handling Systems Development Engineer at Intel Corporation from September 2018 to January 2022.

As an Automation Material Handling Systems Development Engineer, Andrew was responsible for sustaining, installation, and development of automation material handling systems (AMHS) across complex, large scale, 24x7 semiconductor factory. Andrew designed and developed a new automation system to replace manual deliveries and alleviate critical production bottleneck through improved operational efficiency. Andrew successfully lead tradesmen, equipment vendors, and engineers to meet operational readiness with strict timeline.

Andrew also proliferation hardware and software design changes across a fleet of 12 machines to reduce error trend from an average of 6 errors per day to zero. In addition, they managed project schedules and large capital budgets that yielded 27% increase of total AMHS product storage capacity across campus. Moreover, Andrew spearheaded testing on 52 overdue machines (each 3 stories tall by 24'-48' long) while covering for the owner. Andrew procured funding for external labor and lead team of commissioners to shrink test duration from 13 days to 5 days. Andrew revised test script to allow machines to remain in production.
