James Ellison serves as the Agricultural Innovations Lead at One Acre Fund, where leadership in agricultural innovations supports over 700,000 smallholder clients annually. Previously, James worked as a Development Advisor for GIZ, focusing on conservation agriculture, and gained research experience at the University of Kassel, developing protocols for rangeland assessment. Early career contributions include project monitoring at Wetland Action, scientific assistance at Georg-August-Universität Göttingen, and research assistance at CIAT, among others. James holds a Master’s Degree in Sustainable International Agriculture from The University of Göttingen and a Bachelor of Science in Biosystems Engineering from Clemson University.
