Autumn Barbour has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Autumn began their career in 2004 as a Bartender at TGI Fridays and later worked as a Bartender at LongHorn Steakhouse. In 2008, they became a Lead Early Education Teacher at Childcare Network before transitioning to the role of Assistant Early Education Teacher at Cape Fear Community College in 2005. Autumn then worked as an Education Coordinator at Easter Seals UCP Child Development Center in 2009. In 2010, they became a More at Four Lead Teacher at Childcare Network. Autumn joined EXCEL LEARNING CENTERS VIII, LLC in 2012 as a North Carolina PreKindergarten Lead Teacher. Autumn later worked at One Place in various roles, including NC PreKindergarten Training and Technical Assistance Provider, North Carolina PreKindergarten Coordinator, School Readiness Director, and Program Evaluation Director. In 2022, Autumn became the VP of Strategy & Impact at One Place.

Autumn Barbour obtained a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from Mt Olive University, studying there until 2009. In July 2021, they also obtained certification in "The Six Types of Working Genius" from the institution offering the certification.
