Douglas Roland Smith, MD, MBA, serves as the Market Medical Executive (CMO) for Cigna Healthcare in Utah and New Mexico since November 2019. In addition, Douglas is a member of the Innovation Advisory Board and Community Stakeholder Board for One Utah Health Collaborative since June 2023. Douglas holds positions as Hospice Medical Director at True North Home Health and Hospice since December 2020 and continues as an Adult and Pediatric Urgent Care Physician with Intermountain Healthcare since July 2003. Previous roles include Emergency Medicine Physician with Hesperides Health and Corporate & Salt Lake Medical Director at Applegate HomeCare & Hospice, alongside experience directing various hospice and palliative care services in the Salt Lake area. Douglas earned a Doctor of Medicine from the Medical College of Wisconsin and an MBA from Brigham Young University's Marriott School of Business, complemented by additional advanced training and leadership development programs in healthcare.
