Christos Vlachos has a wide range of work experience in the insurance and risk management field. Christos currently serves as the Vice President of Insurance Linked Securities at One William Street Capital, a position they started in 2021. Prior to that, they worked at AIR Worldwide, where they held multiple roles. From 2016-2020, they worked as a Research Engineer, focusing on earthquake research. Then, from 2020-2021, they served as a Risk Consultant, specializing in insurance linked securities. Before their time at AIR Worldwide, they were a Doctoral Researcher at Columbia University in the City of New York from 2013-2016.
Christos Vlachos completed their Bachelor's Degree (B.Sc.) in Civil Engineering at the University of Patras from 2007 to 2012. Christos then pursued further education at Columbia University, earning a Master's Degree (M.Sc.) in Civil Engineering & Engineering Mechanics from 2012 to 2013. Finally, they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Civil Engineering & Engineering Mechanics at Columbia University from 2013 to 2016.

OWS is led by an exceptional team of five principals with a long history together, specialized expertise in managing asset-based investments, and considerable experience in controlling risk. Our portfolios are diversified across a wide-range of investments including: residential mortgage-backed securities, non-performing/performing whole loans, consumer/commercial asset-backed securities as well as commercial mortgage-backed securities.
