Hai Tang is an experienced professional in quantitative finance and engineering with a strong background in strategy development and technology. Currently serving as a Desk Quant at One William Street Capital since October 2022, Hai previously held the position of Director at FORT L.P. for nearly seven years, where a notable achievement included the productionization of a Commodity Relative Value strategy with a Sharpe ratio of 1.9 over 20 years. Past roles include system engineering and embedded system engineering internships at Aidar Health and Infinite Biomedical Technologies, as well as significant contributions to research at Johns Hopkins Medicine and The Johns Hopkins University, focusing on software and hardware for medical applications and image processing. Educational credentials include a Master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University and dual Bachelor's degrees in Electrical Engineering and Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Dayton and Nanjing University of Science and Technology, respectively.

OWS is led by an exceptional team of five principals with a long history together, specialized expertise in managing asset-based investments, and considerable experience in controlling risk. Our portfolios are diversified across a wide-range of investments including: residential mortgage-backed securities, non-performing/performing whole loans, consumer/commercial asset-backed securities as well as commercial mortgage-backed securities.
