Liang Xu

Liang Xu has a strong background in the field of technology and artificial intelligence. Currently, they are serving as the Chief Engineer & Head of National AI Open Platform at OneConnect Smart Technology, a position they have held since April 2021. Prior to this, Liang worked at Ping An Group, where they held multiple roles including Deputy Chief Engineer in the Department of Intelligent Therapeutics and Deputy Chief Engineer in the Department of Hybrid Augmented Intelligence. Liang also served as the Senior Executive Big Data & AI Director, where they led a team of data scientists and product specialists while working on healthcare big data and fintech projects. Before joining Ping An Group, Liang worked as a Chief Scientist at Linktop Technology Co., Ltd, responsible for product design, algorithm development, and marketing analysis of mobile healthcare products. Liang was also involved in raising capital for the company. Liang has also gained experience through research internships at Mirada Medical and as a Demonstrator at the University of Oxford. Liang began their career at Tsinghua University, where they served as the Vice President of the Innovative Talent Cultivating Program.

Liang Xu started their education at Tsinghua University from 2006 to 2010, where they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Biomedical Engineering. In 2009, Liang participated in the International Student Exchange Program at The Johns Hopkins University, focusing on Medical Engineering. Liang then went on to pursue further studies at the University of Oxford, completing their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Engineering Science from 2010 to 2014. During their time at Oxford, Liang also participated in the Saïd Business School's Science Innovation Plus (SIP) program in Business Administration and Management from 2011 to 2012.
