Gustavo Chata

Gustavo Chata, PhD, is a skilled battery chemist currently working at OneD Battery Sciences since April 2023. Previously, Gustavo held the position of battery engineer at Zēlos Energy Ltd, focusing on developing a 1 KWh battery with a nominal gravimetric energy density of 50 Wh/kg. With a PhD in Chemistry from the University of California, Santa Cruz, Gustavo has published research in prestigious journals and utilized various analytical techniques for nanoparticle characterization. Significant contributions include developing biodegradable hydrogels with enhanced antibacterial properties, participation in innovative materials research at the National Energy Technology Laboratory, and assisting in regenerative medicine projects. Gustavo’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Applied Science in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from the University of California, Merced.
