Po Hong, Ph.D. has a wealth of experience in the field of data engineering. In 1997, they began their career as a Senior Principal Consultant at Oracle. Po then worked as a Principal Consultant at Knowledge Impact Inc. from 1999 to 2001. In 2001, they became a Senior PS Consultant at Teradata, where they were certified as a Teradata Master in 2003. From 2006 to 2008, they worked as an Independent Consultant, where they were the ETL architect and lead developer for GlaxoSmithKline's Sales DW on Teradata. From 2008 to 2011, they were a Senior Solutions Architect (Presales) at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, specializing in Vertica workload management and performance tuning. From 2011 to 2016, they were a Big Data Cloud Architect at Amazon Web Services (AWS), where they were a member of the AWS Lake House Global Specialty Practice (GSP). Po was also the inventor of the Redshift RSQL command line tool, and author or co-author of eight published AWS Big Data blogs. Po is currently a Lead Solutions Architect at Onehouse, where they are a member of the engineering team that helps to deliver a new bedrock for big data, through a cloud-native lakehouse service built on Apache Hudi. Po is responsible for designing and implementing large-scale data architectures to help customers to unlock massive cost savings and adopt a fully-managed lakehouse.

Po Hong, Ph.D. holds a Ph.D. in Engineering from Northwestern University and a B.S. in Physics from Peking University. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications from Amazon Web Services, including AWS Certified Big Data - Specialty in February 2019, AWS Business Professional Accreditation in June 2016, AWS TCO and Cloud Economics in May 2016, AWS Technical Professional Accreditation in May 2016, AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional in October 2016, AWS Certified Developer - Associate in June 2016, and AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate in June 2016. Po also holds a Certified Teradata Master certification from Teradata, obtained in May 2003.
