Felissa Koernig has a diverse work experience in various leadership roles. Felissa currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer at Oneida Health. Prior to this, they were the SVP/President at Guthrie Corning Hospital where they managed a workforce of 500 employees and oversaw financial planning and strategic goals. Felissa also held the position of SVP/President at Guthrie Towanda Memorial Hospital, where they directed multiple functions and managed a team of 350. Before that, they worked at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, where they served as an Associate Director/Chief Operating Officer, overseeing a large medical center and satellite clinics. Felissa also worked as an Assistant Director, managing various departments and serving as a facility liaison. Earlier in their career, they held roles as a Strategic & Capital Planner and Strategic Planner at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, where they were responsible for developing and executing capital plans and managing the strategic planning process. Felissa also participated in a Presidential Management Fellowship, gaining experience in different service lines and participating in various improvement initiatives.
Felissa Koernig holds a Doctor of Law (J.D.) degree from Penn State Dickinson Law, which they obtained from 2004 to 2007. Felissa also has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration and Management, General from Penn State Harrisburg, earned from 2005 to 2006. Additionally, they have a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Business Administration and Management, General from Elmira College, completed from 2001 to 2004. In terms of certifications, Felissa holds the FACHE certification from the American College of Healthcare Executives (obtained in 2018), is a Certified Mentor from the Veterans Administration (obtained in 2017), has completed a Healthcare Data Analytics program at Nebraska Methodist College (obtained in 2013), holds a Project & Program Management (P/PM) certification from the Federal Acquisition Certification Academy (obtained in 2011), and is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association (obtained in 2007).

The mission of the Oneida Health is to plan, provide and coordinate the highest quality progressive and comprehensive health care services for the greater Oneida area and surrounding communities. Oneida Health serves an area comprised of approximately 29 communities in Madison and western Oneida counties with a population of approximately 100,000. Operated by Oneida Health Systems, Inc, a New York State not-for-profit corporation, the organization includes a 101-bed acute care hospital, emergency department, state of the art surgery center, 160-bed extended-care and short-term rehab facility, primary care offices, internal medicine, comprehensive lab services, home medical equipment, comprehensive imaging services, outpatient therapy, and care specialties in: oncology, neurology, podiatry, vascular, sleep, OB/GYN, orthopedics, wound care, GI, and ENT.
