Karlene Latimer has a wealth of work experience. Karlene began their career in 2002 as a Staff Editor for Duke University School of Law - Duke Journal of Comparative and International Law. In 2005, they became a Barrister at Law for Crescent Chambers and a Lawyer for the North Shore Women's Centre Legal Clinic. In 2007, they moved to Mcveagh Fleming as a Lawyer in the Litigation Department. From 2009 to 2016, they worked as a Freelance Technical Writer, a Freelance Content Writer for Purecontent Media Limited, and a Creative Services Director for Oceania Innovations Pty Ltd. In 2020, they became a Course Creator for My Trademark Academy, an eLearning course for business owners. Karlene was responsible for end-to-end course creation, sales and marketing, and instructional design. In 2021, they took on the role of L&D Content Creator for VALD, where they were responsible for end-to-end learning and development, research, analysis, design, creation, delivery and evaluation of eLearning training programs. Finally, in 2022, they became a Product Content Lead for One Model.

Karlene Latimer obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government, and Sociology from The University of Auckland in 1998-2001. Karlene then obtained a Bachelor of Laws from the same university from 1995-1998. In 2002-2003, they obtained a Master of Laws in American and European Union Law from Duke University School of Law. Karlene also obtained a Cert IV in Learning Design and Facilitation from Institute for Learning and Performance Asia Pacific in 2022. In addition, Latimer has obtained several certifications, including General Course on Intellectual Property from World Intellectual Property Organization – WIPO in 2020, List Builders Society from Amy Porterfield, Inc. in 2020, Digital Course Academy from Amy Porterfield, Inc. in 2020, Coaching Skills for Leaders and Managers from LinkedIn in 2020, Jodi Glickman on Pitching Yourself from LinkedIn in 2020, and Enrolled Barrister and Solicitor from High Court of New Zealand in 2001.
