Romain Wuilbercq, PhD, is an accomplished research engineer at ONERA - The French Aerospace Lab, specializing in the multidisciplinary design and optimization of advanced aerospace systems, including high-speed aircraft and reusable rockets. With a track record of leadership in drone system design, Romain supervises PhD and Master students. Additionally, Romain has contributed to academia as a visiting lecturer at ISAE-ENSMA and ENSTA Paris, delivering courses on hypersonic lifting bodies and multidisciplinary design and optimization, respectively. Previous roles include entrepreneurship at Asteria Space Ltd and research positions at the University of Strathclyde, Airbus Helicopters, and the University of Glasgow. Romain holds a PhD in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from the University of Strathclyde, along with several degrees in engineering and aerospace disciplines from prestigious institutions.
