James Slocum has a diverse and extensive work experience in the technology and banking industry. James began their career at Insurance Holdings of America in 1997, where they worked as the Intranet Design Team Lead. During their time there, they developed the company's corporate intranet and an extranet for coordinating the rollout of franchises and kiosks with strategic partners.

In 2000, Slocum joined Tallan as a Development Consultant, working on the development of user interface interaction and market prediction applications. James utilized XML request/response architecture and integrated real-time market data and market forecast information from Reuters and FAME.

In 2001, Slocum became an independent contractor and started their own company, JRS Technology Consulting.
