Roger Blackburn has over 30 years of experience in the aviation industry. Roger is currently working as the VP Europe at oneworld Alliance since May 2019. Prior to this, Roger held various roles at British Airways, including Head of Commercial Performance from October 2012 to September 2018, Head of Strategy and Business Planning from January 2011 to September 2012, Senior Manager, Airline Strategy from February 2009 to December 2010, Design Head Operations from March 2006 to February 2009, Design Authority Manager, Revenue Management, Sales and Product from 2002 to March 2006, Business Solutions Manager, Network from September 1997 to March 2002, and Operational Research Analyst and Team Leader from January 1991 to August 1997. Their responsibilities included revenue forecasting, driving revenue performance, overseeing strategic planning and acquisitions, design and implementation of operational systems, and leading various research and analysis projects.

Roger Blackburn has a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD degree in Statistical Physics, Optimisation and Neural Networks from the University of Oxford, which they obtained from 1987 to 1991. Prior to that, they earned an MSc in Operational Research from Lancaster University from 1986 to 1987. Their undergraduate degree, a BSc in Physics, was obtained from Imperial College London, where they studied from 1983 to 1986.
