Matt Murphy

Matt Murphy is the Vice President, Legal at Onex. Matt was previously the Director, Legal at Northleaf Capital Partners from March 2017 to April 2022. Prior to that, they were an Associate at Torys LLP from September 2012 to March 2017. Matt also served as an Articling Student at Torys LLP from August 2011 to June 2012. Matt Murphy received their law degree from Dalhousie University, Schulich School of Law in 2009 and has been working in the legal field ever since.

Matt Murphy has a Juris Doctor from Dalhousie University in the field of Philosophy, a Bachelor of Arts from Queen's University in Philosophy, and a Bachelor of Science from Queen's University in Chemistry. Matt also has a bachelors degree from Halifax Grammar School.

Matt Murphy reports to Andrea Daly, Managing Director, General Counsel. They are on a team with Dina Marracolla - Director, Compliance, Colin Sam - Vice President and Associate General Counsel.
