Paul Scagnetti

Paul Scagnetti has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Paul currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer at ONI since February 2023. Prior to their role at ONI, they worked at Illumina where they held various positions including Vice President of Corporate & Business Development from April 2020 to February 2023, and Sr. Director of Corporate & Venture Development from 2015 to 2020. Before joining Illumina, Paul worked at FEI Company where they held several senior leadership roles, including Vice President and General Manager of the Science Business Group from 2012 to 2014, Vice President and General Manager of the Natural Resources Business Unit from 2007 to 2012, and Director of Strategic Planning and Corporate Development from 2003 to 2007. Paul also worked as a Senior Manager of Strategic Planning and Corporate Development at FEI Company from 2001 to 2003. Paul began their career at Intel Corporation, first as a Technology Development Engineer from 1996 to 1998 and later as the co-General Manager of Vivonic in the New Business Incubator from 1998 to 2001. Prior to their time at Intel, they worked as a Senior Engineer in the Precision Ceramic Components Group at CoorsTek from 1994 to 1996.

Paul Scagnetti completed their Bachelor's Degree in Industrial and Product Design at the Rhode Island School of Design from 1986 to 1990. Paul then pursued a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering at Boston University from 1990 to 1992. Following this, they attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1990 to 1996, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Mechanical Engineering. Later, from 1998 to 2000, they obtained a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from the University of Oregon, specializing in Business.
