Ricardo Nunes Bastos is currently the Director of Business Development at ONI. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior post doctoral researcher at The University of Edinburgh from August 2016 to September 2017. There, they researched the mechanisms of female oocyte cell division and the importance key players have in reducing infertility. From September 2011 to July 2016, Ricardo worked as a Post doctoral researcher at the University of Oxford where they looked into the underlying mechanisms that control cell division and what goes wrong in tumour cells. Before that, they were a Postdoctoral researcher at Cancer Research Centre, University of Liverpool from May 2008 to August 2011 where they worked with tumour cell lines to understand how cancer progression occurs. Ricardo Nunes Bastos obtained their PhD from the University of Helsinki where they studied from March 2003 to May 2008.
Ricardo Nunes Bastos has a PhD in Biotechnology from the University of Helsinki and an MS in Biochemistry from the Faculdade de ciências da universidade do Porto.
