Mia Baxley is currently an English Course Designer at Onja Madagascar and a Scoville Peace Fellow focused on Global Affairs and Partnerships with Search for Common Ground. They graduated with a Master of Arts in Political Science from Duke University in Spring 2023, having concentrated on Security, Peace, and Conflict, with research interests in democratization and human rights issues, particularly in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. Mia has previously gained diverse experience as a Research Intern at Genocide Watch and the Lemkin Institute for Genocide Prevention, as well as serving as an Assistant Director for the United Nations Development Programme. They also hold a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke and have served in various volunteer roles, showcasing a commitment to humanitarian issues and education.
