Sebastian Hanlon

Sebastian Hanlon has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Sebastian started their career as a Web Applications Developer at the University of Lethbridge in 2002. From 2006 to 2010, they worked as a Programmer at BioWare, contributing to the development of gameplay and pipeline technology for various projects, including Dragon Age: Origins and Mass Effect 2. Sebastian then took on the role of Senior Programmer at BioWare, working on the animation systems, player gameplay, and designer tools support for Dragon Age II and Dragon Age Inquisition. Sebastian also played a key role in piloting EA's Frostbite engine and developing core action gameplay design architecture for Dragon Age Inquisition.

In 2018, Sebastian joined Hinterland Studio Inc. as a Gameplay Designer, where they worked until 2019. Sebastian then became a Senior Technical Design Consultant at Serious Labs Inc., where they worked until 2020. In 2019, they also ventured into their own business under the name Sebastian Hanlon, serving in the role of Insights and Implementation.

Sebastian's most recent position is Technology/Development Lead at Onlea, starting in July 2020. Overall, their work experience reflects a strong background in technical gameplay design, programming, and team leadership in the gaming industry.

Sebastian Hanlon's education history begins in 1999, when they enrolled at The University of Lethbridge to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. Sebastian completed their undergraduate studies in 2004.

Following the completion of their bachelor's degree, Sebastian Hanlon decided to further their education by attending the University of Lethbridge School of Graduate Studies. From 2004 to 2006, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Computer Science.

In addition to their formal education, Sebastian Hanlon has obtained certifications in leadership. In December 2021, they completed three certifications: "A Coaching Approach to Leadership," "Decoding Adaptive Leadership Challenges," and "Leadership for the Tech Future" from the Peter Lougheed Leadership College.
