Aaron Berndsen

Aaron Berndsen has worked as a Senior Data Scientist at Anno.Ai since November 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Genworth from June 2019 to November 2021 as a Data Scientist, where they wrote a Cobol-to-Python parser and developed an updated Mortality Table using machine learning and generalized linear models. From October 2018 to June 2019, they were the Director of Actuarial Systems, Analytics, and Innovation at Manulife. At Manulife, they also held the roles of High Performance Computing Specialist from February 2014 to October 2018, and Actuarial Systems Director from June 2015 to February 2018. Before that, they worked as a Researcher at the Canadian Institute for Theoretical Astrophysics from October 2013 to January 2014. Aaron also worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at The University of British Columbia from December 2009 to August 2013, and as an NSERC Postdoctoral Fellow at Simon Fraser University from January 2007 to December 2009.

Aaron Berndsen obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree with an honors in Physics and Astronomy, with a minor in Mathematics, from the University of Victoria. Aaron completed this degree between 1996 and 2001. Aaron then pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Physics at McGill University, which they completed from 2001 to 2003. Building upon their previous degrees, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in High Energy Theoretical Physics from McGill University, completing this degree from 2003 to 2007.
