Bibaswan Ghoshal has a diverse work experience in the field of bioscience innovation and research commercialization. Bibaswan currently holds the position of Director, Market Acceleration at the Ontario Bioscience Innovation Organization since November 2021. Prior to this, they worked at CAMH as a Manager, Research Commercialization from September 2019 to August 2022. In this role, they conducted interviews with researchers, assessed inventive research for commercial viability, and established networks with industry partners.
Before joining CAMH, Bibaswan worked at Mount Sinai Health System as a Bioinformatics Analyst II from October 2016 to September 2019. During this time, they published research in high-impact journals, led bioinformatics analysis projects, and assisted with fund and grant management.
Their earlier experience includes roles as a Graduate Research Assistant and Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Alberta from 2009 to 2016. As a research assistant, they contributed to research projects, while as a teaching assistant, they graded assignments and provided feedback to students.
Bibaswan Ghoshal began their education at the University of Alberta in 2009, pursuing a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry. This program lasted until 2011. Subsequently, they continued their studies at the same university and enrolled in a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program, specializing in Bioinformatics and Agriculture. This program started in 2011 and is expected to conclude in 2025.
