Colin Cooper

Colin Cooper is an experienced academic and microbiologist, currently serving as the Undergraduate Teaching Coordinator and Sessional Lecturer in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Guelph since March 2012, teaching courses in Microbiology, Analytical Biochemistry, and Enzymology. Prior to this, Colin held the position of Senior Microbiologist in Microbiology Method Development at the Agriculture and Food Laboratory, where responsibilities included project management and method validation. Colin also contributed to research as a Postdoctoral Fellow studying bacterial export mechanisms at the University of Guelph, and previously completed a PhD at McMaster University focused on Salmonella infection mechanisms. Additional roles include serving as a Reviewer for the Ontario Centre of Innovation and as a Teaching Assistant across multiple institutions. Colin holds a PhD in Biochemistry and Biomedical Sciences, a Master of Science in Developmental Biology, and a Bachelor of Science in Honours Genetics.
