Helen Chimirri- Russell

Helen Chimirri-Russell serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Ontario Heritage Trust since January 2024, following a tenure as Director of Cultural Services at the Region of Waterloo from August 2017 to January 2024. Previously, Helen held the position of Director of Arts Development for the Government of Alberta from October 2012 to August 2017, and served as Museums Policy Advisor at the University of Alberta from August 2008 to October 2012, where key contributions included the development of a Museums Compliance Framework and related policies. Helen's career began as Director of the North East England Cultural Observatory at Culture North East from May 2006 to August 2008, focusing on enhancing research capacity among cultural bodies in the region. Academically, Helen Chimirri-Russell earned a Master of Arts in Cultural Anthropology from Goldsmiths, University of London, and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from the University of Toronto - Victoria University.
