Nia Hughes

Nia Hughes is an experienced bioinformatician currently serving as the Platform Training Manager and Bioinformatics.ca Program Manager at the Ontario Institute for Cancer Research since March 2023. Previously, Nia held roles at the University of Guelph from 2016 to 2022, where significant contributions included leading research projects on RNA-directed DNA methylation pathways, integrating next-generation sequencing analyses, and managing plant breeding initiatives. Nia's expertise encompasses programming in R, Python, Perl, and Bash, and conducting research on high-performance computing clusters. Nia holds an M.Sc. in Bioinformatics and a Bachelor of Arts and Science in Molecular Biology and Genetics and Anthropology from the University of Guelph.
