Saman Maleki

Translational Immuno-oncology Scientist at Ontario Institute for Cancer Research

Saman Maleki is an accomplished academic and researcher specializing in cancer immunology and immunotherapy. Currently, Saman serves as an Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, and Adjunct Research Professor at Western University, focusing on sensitizing tumors to immunotherapy and advancing pre-clinical studies to phase I trials. Saman co-chairs the Early-Career Scientist Committee and is an Ex-Officio member of the Board of Directors at the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC), also having previously served as a SITC Sparkathon Investigator. Saman's expertise includes inducing neoantigen formation on tumor cells and studying the immunosuppressive enzyme indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase (IDO). With a rich background in oncology research and leadership roles in various organizations, including serving on the Board of Directors for IMV Inc. and founding Zealous Scientifics Inc., Saman is dedicated to advancing the field of cancer immunotherapy. Educationally, Saman holds a Ph.D. in Cancer Immunology and Cancer Biology from Western University and a Master's degree in Microbiology from Isfahan University.
