Melinda Gibson has a diverse work experience starting from 2004 as a Head Kindergarten Teacher at Fairyland International Kindergarten. Melinda then worked at the Ontario Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration as a Sr. Program Advisor for the Provincial Nominee Program from 2006 to 2009. After that, Melinda worked at the Ontario Ministry of Government and Consumer Services in various managerial and Chief of Staff roles from 2009 to 2016. Melinda then joined the Ontario Government as the Chief of Staff to the DM for EcDev & Growth, Research, Innovation & Science, and Small Business from 2016 to 2018. Following that, Melinda worked at the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade as the Executive Lead for Integration & Transformation in 2018 and later as the Director of Strategic and Corporate Policy from 2018 to 2019. Melinda also held roles at the Girl Guides of Canada and is currently working at the Ontario Medical Association, first as the Senior Director of Governance from 2019 to 2020, then as the Executive Director of Governance from 2020 to 2023, and currently as the Vice President of Governance & Physician Leader Engagement.

Melinda Gibson's education history includes obtaining an ICD.D degree from the Institute of Corporate Directors in 2023, specializing in the ICD-Rotman Directors Education Program. Melinda also holds a BA degree from the University of Guelph, majoring in Political Science and Rural Extension Studies. In addition, they pursued studies in Photography at George Brown College and Volunteer Management at Conestoga College.
