Andre Fast currently serves as a Government and External Relations Specialist at the Ontario Nurses' Association since October 2023. Previously, Andre was a Regional Organizer for the New Democratic Party of Canada from February 2021 to October 2023 and held the role of Executive Director at the University of Toronto Graduate Students' Union from May 2020 to February 2021. Andre's experience also includes positions as a Legislative Assistant and Federal Election Data and Policy Analyst with the Canadian Labour Congress, and a Constituency Assistant for the City of Toronto, where advisory work focused on affordable housing and poverty reduction. Andre's educational background includes a Master's degree in Public Policy from the University of Toronto's Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy and a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies and Political Science from the same institution.

The Ontario Nurses’ Association (ONA) is a proactive union committed to improving the economic welfare and quality of work-life for our members, to enable them to provide high-quality health care. Founded in 1973, the Ontario Nurses’ Association (ONA) is the trade union that represents 60,000 registered nurses and allied health professionals working throughout Ontario, including: hospitals community health long-term care public health clinics industry Each facility represented by ONA has a Bargaining Unit President that oversees union activities within that facility. The provincial organization is divided into Locals, which is headed by a Local Coordinator. Bargaining Unit Presidents as well as Local Coordinators are ONA members, and are members' best source of information as it pertains to their facility.
