Judy Afana

Judy Afana is a highly skilled engineering professional with extensive experience in the energy sector, currently serving as Design Team Lead at Ontario Power Generation since January 2023, providing mechanical and electrical design engineering support for multidisciplinary projects exceeding $20 million. Previously, Judy held the role of Project Manager at Candu Energy, overseeing a $6 million demolition and rebuild program for a Waste Nuclear Substance Licensed facility, completing all projects ahead of schedule and under budget. Judy's earlier positions at Ontario Power Generation included leading a High Impact Team that saved approximately 250 hours and $5 million on a valve rehabilitation project, and enhancing procurement processes as a Procurement Engineering Intern. Additionally, Judy has experience in software development and IT analysis from roles at Rakuten and General Motors, respectively. Academic qualifications include a Master of Applied Sciences in Industry 4.0, Lean & Nuclear, and a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering from Ontario Tech University.
