Dwight Peer has extensive experience in law enforcement and public safety, serving as Chief Superintendent and Regional Commander for the Ontario Provincial Police from January 2020 until retirement, overseeing a diverse staff of 1,150 to ensure community safety. Prior to this role, Dwight Peer served as Chief Firearms Officer for the Ontario Ministry of the Solicitor General from October 2017 to January 2020, focusing on public safety and effective risk management of firearms licensing. Earlier career experiences include serving as Director of Support and Superintendent within the Ontario Provincial Police from April 2012 to October 2017, where the emphasis was on staff training and resource management. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from Huron University and a Certificate in Police Leadership from the University of Toronto - Rotman School of Management.
