Eugene Jeoung (he/him/his)

Eugene Jeoung currently works as a Senior Program Officer at Health Canada to support the roll-out of the Canadian Dental Care Plan. Before this, he worked as a project manager to streamline Health Canada’s inspection activities, which won him the Assistant Deputy Minister’s Award in Innovation and Creativity in 2022. Eugene served as a student trustee on the Vancouver School Board from 2017 to 2018. During his tenure, he helped move a motion before the British Columbia School Trustees Association that encouraged all school districts in BC to create student trustee positions.

Eugene graduated with a Bachelor of Public Affairs and Policy Management from Carleton University, where his research primarily focused on Canadian and international drug policy. He is a staunch advocate for harm reduction, and he has hands-on experience working at the supervised consumption site at Sandy Hill Community Health Centre to help reduce overdose-related deaths. When off the clock, Eugene enjoys biking or skating along the Rideau Canal, playing pub trivia with friends, and baking up whatever sweet treat he has the ingredients for.
