Olivier Bohrer

Olivier Bohrer has a diverse work experience in data engineering and software development. Olivier is currently the Head of Data at OnTheMarket since February 2023. Prior to this, they worked as the Data Engineering Manager at OnTheMarket from August 2021 to February 2023. Olivier also has experience as the Head of Data Engineering at VIOOH from July 2019 to August 2021, where they led the data engineering team and implemented real-time datalake and architecture switch to streaming. Additionally, they promoted the microservice approach across the company. Before that, Olivier founded Teejik in October 2014, where they worked until December 2019. Olivier has also worked at Trainline as a Data Engineering Team Lead from October 2018 to June 2019 and as a Senior Data Engineer from April 2017 to June 2019. At Trainline, they built the data gateway and data lake using Clojure and AWS, implemented real-time ingestion, batch processing, and built the data platform for data scientists. Olivier also worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Swisscom from July 2016 to March 2017, as a Software Engineer at Agents' Mutual from July 2015 to July 2016, and had a temporary role at International AIDS Society as part of the civilian service in mobile development. Olivier began their career at SmallRivers SA as a Platform Engineer from March 2013 to September 2014 and as a Software Engineer from October 2011 to March 2013. In these roles, they worked on data modeling, ingestion, and topic modeling for Paper.li. Additionally, they worked at Digger Foundation as part of the civilian service in software development, where they developed a demining software using DGPS. Olivier also had a student internship at VMware in 2010.

Olivier Bohrer pursued their education starting from 2003 with a focus on computing. Olivier attended CIFOM-ET from 2003 to 2006, where they studied computing. After completing this program, Olivier enrolled at HE-ARC from 2006 to 2009. At HE-ARC, they pursued a BSc in Computer Science, specializing in Software Engineering. Building on their undergraduate studies, they then pursued an MSc in Engineering in Information Technology at HES-SO from 2009 to 2011.
