Benjamin Brown

Benjamin Brown has extensive work experience in the field of intellectual property law and technology. Benjamin is currently working at Onto Innovation as the Chief IP Counsel, Assistant General Counsel, and Head of Government Affairs since January 2022. Prior to that, they served as a Senior IP Counsel at Onto Innovation from February 2020 to January 2022. Benjamin also worked as Of Counsel at Schwegman Lundberg & Woessner, P.A. from September 2019 to February 2020.

Before joining Onto Innovation, Benjamin held various roles at Analog Devices. Benjamin was the Assistant General Counsel, Intellectual Property from January 2017 to September 2019, Senior IP Counsel from August 2015 to January 2017, and IP Counsel from March 2012 to August 2015.

Benjamin's career started at WilmerHale, where they worked as a Senior Associate/Associate from August 2009 to March 2012, and as a Technology Specialist from January 2005 to August 2009. Earlier in their career, they worked at IBM as an ASIC Design Simulator from 2004 to 2005 and at Rutgers University as a Research Lab Technician at WINLAB from May 2002 to August 2003.

Benjamin Brown began their education by earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering and Urban Studies from Rutgers University between the years 2000 and 2004. Subsequently, they attended the Fordham University School of Law from 2006 to 2009, acquiring a Juris Doctor (JD) degree. Later, Benjamin pursued further education and attained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, attending from 2019 to 2021. During their educational journey, they also obtained certification as a Registered Patent Agent/Attorney from the US Patent Office in September 2005.
