John Thornell

John Thornell possesses extensive experience in software systems architecture and engineering, currently serving as Principal Software Systems Architect at Onto Innovation since October 2019. Prior to this role, John held various positions at Rudolph Technologies, including XTool Systems Engineering Manager and Senior Vision Systems Engineer II, from February 2006 to October 2019. John's earlier experience includes roles as Senior Vision Systems Engineer at August Technology and as Machine Vision Software Manager and Senior Software Engineer at Semiconductor Technologies & Instruments from August 1997 to April 2006. John gained a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from Texas A&M University, graduating in August 1997.
