Gert Maes began their career as a Trainee in the Sales Graduate Program at HP in September 2009. Gert then worked as an Inside Sales Rep for Hewlett-Packard in PSG Volume Direct, focusing on acquiring new accounts. In August 2011, they became an Account Manager PSG within HP's PSG Division, where they maintained existing customers and hunted for new customers in the Belgian Corporate and Enterprise sector. From November 2012 to June 2015, Gert served as a Global Account Manager in HP's PPS Division, working with various global accounts in different industries.
In July 2015, Gert joined Lenovo as an Account Executive in the Large Enterprise and Public Sector Segment. Gert covered all product categories within Lenovo, managing accounts in the private sector across different industries and the Federal Government in the public sector.
In January 2021, Gert became an EMEA Account Executive at Ontoforce, responsible for new account acquisition within the EMEA Region and globally, helping customers gain better insights into data. Gert was later promoted to Senior Account Executive & Team Lead, responsible for a set of strategic accounts, primarily in the pharmaceutical and life science industries, where Ontoforce assists in solving challenges related to science, biology, chemistry, drug development, and clinical development.
Gert Maes has a diverse education history. Gert began their educational journey in 1997 at Sint-Lodewijkscollege Lokeren, where they focused on Mathematics-Sciences. After completing their secondary education, they enrolled at Ghent University in 2003 and pursued a Bachelor's degree in History, which they successfully completed in 2008. Following that, Gert Maes decided to further their studies at HOGENT in 2008-2009, where they undertook a Postgraduate program in Management and Communication. Subsequently, they returned to Ghent University and pursued a Master's degree in History from 2007 to 2009, specializing in Aggregation. Gert Maes has a well-rounded education in subjects ranging from sciences to history and management.
