Karen Chan

Karen Chan is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in both the legal and publishing sectors. As the Founder of Gloo Books since March 2021, Karen established an independent publishing company aimed at promoting inclusivity and representation in children's literature. Concurrently, Karen has worked as a Corporate Attorney at Ontra since December 2020 and previously held the same position at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP from October 2014 to December 2019, specializing in M&A transactions and corporate compliance. In addition, Karen co-founded Honestly Media, contributing as an editor to HonestlyYUM.com from March 2013 to December 2019. Early legal experience includes a role as Judicial Extern for the Honorable Stephen Reinhardt at the U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit. Karen holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Development Studies and Art History from UCLA and a Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles.
