Earlier in their career, Brian worked at PepsiCo as the Financial Controller for Europe and Middle East, where they oversaw the implementation of an ERP system and managed a major restructuring project. Brian also served as the Leader for Advantaged Integrated Europe Program.

Brian's work experience also includes roles at EMI Music as a Commercial Controller, Next Retail Chain as a Finance Manager, and EY (formerly Ernst & Young) as a Business Services Accountant.

Brian Allan completed their education at various institutions. In 1996, they began studying for their MBA at Aston University, focusing on Business Administration. Brian graduated in 1999. In 2015, Brian attended London Business School, where they specialized in financing the entrepreneurial business, although they did not complete a specific degree. Brian also pursued professional qualifications, obtaining the ACA designation from ICAEW and the FCMA designation from The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. In 2016, they enrolled in the University of Cambridge's MSt Construction Engineering Masters (CEM) Program, a renowned course in construction leadership. Brian completed this program in 2018.
