Abhishek Bhatia

Abhishek Bhatia has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in the insurance and investment industry. Abhishek is currently the Group CEO and Director at Oona Insurance, a position they have held since March 2022. Prior to that, they co-founded Freedom Acquisition Corporation in January 2021. Abhishek also served as an Executive in Residence (EIR) at Warburg Pincus LLC from April 2021 to March 2022.

Before their current positions, Bhatia held several leadership roles at FWD Insurance, including Group Chief Officer for New Business Models from February 2018 to December 2020, and CEO of FWD Singapore from November 2015 to April 2020.

Abhishek'sprevious experience includes being the CEO of Prudential Poland at Prudential UK from July 2012 to November 2015, Regional Director of Insurance Management at Prudential Corporation Asia from November 2009 to July 2012, and Chief Officer of General Insurance & Partnership Distribution at Prudential Assurance Malaysia Berhad from April 2008 to November 2009.

Earlier in their career, Bhatia served as the Chief Officer of Private & Institutional Asset Management at Eastspring Investments from November 2006 to January 2008, Director of Marketing, Brand & Communication at Prudential Assurance Malaysia Berhad from January 2005 to November 2006, and Head of Marketing at ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company Limited from September 2000 to December 2004.

Abhishek Bhatia completed their Bachelor's degree in Economics Hons. from SRCC, Delhi University from 1993 to 1996. Following this, they pursued an MBA in Strategy and Marketing from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta from 1996 to 1998.
