Lauri Aarnio

Lauri Aarnio has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Lauri is currently serving as the Director & Competence Lead of Data Platform and Artificial Intelligence at OP Financial Group since January 2023. Prior to this, they held the position of Director, Developers Competence Area at the same company from August 2020 to January 2023. In this role, they were responsible for leading a large team, defining and executing strategy, budgeting and forecasting costs, and building relationships with external partners.

Before joining OP Financial Group, Lauri worked as a Certified Personal Trainer at Grani Training starting from December 2017. Lauri also co-founded and served as the Chairman of the board at Motivade from October 2012 to April 2020. Additionally, Lauri worked as a Manager of Business Development at Kesko - K-Group from September 2017 to May 2018, and as a Senior Product Manager at Comptel from February 2015 to September 2017.

Lauri's early career was at Nokia, where they held various positions such as Lead Product Manager, Senior Product Manager, and Senior Manager of Product Management. In these roles, they were responsible for product ownership, defining and managing features, and building roadmap for multiple device families. Lauri also played a key role in the development of software releases such as MeeGo N 1.0 and Symbian^3.

Lauri Aarnio earned a M.Sc. degree in Computer Science, Math, and Physics from the University of Helsinki, completing their studies from 1997 to 2002. Additionally, they pursued graduate studies in Computer Science at the University of California, Berkeley from an unspecified start year until 2000. Currently, Lauri is undertaking a degree in Johtamisen ja yritysjohtamisen erikoisammattitutkinto (Business Administration and Management, General) at Rastor-instituutti, expected to be completed by 2023. In terms of certifications, they obtained training as a FAF Running Trainer and FAF Personal Trainer from FAF - Fysioline Academy of Finland in 2018 and 2017 respectively. Furthermore, they received a certification in Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) from Nitor Delta in 2015.
