Richard Newman currently serves as the Corporate Affairs Director at Open Banking. Previously, Richard held various roles such as Councillor at Buckinghamshire Council, Head of Regulatory Relations & External Affairs at Gibraltar Financial Services Commission, Vice President Regulatory Relations at Barclays, and Press Officer for Prudential Regulation at the Bank of England. Richard also worked as a Senior Political Advisor at the European Parliament, a Political Officer at Slough Borough Council, and a Researcher at the House of Commons. Richard holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Central Banking and Financial Regulation from the University of Warwick and a Bachelor of Laws degree from Newcastle University.
