Rachel Freyberger Psyd, Lp

Rachel Freyberger, PsyD, LP has a diverse work experience in the field of psychology. Rachel is currently serving as the Director of Behavioral Health at Open Cities Health Center since May 2022, in addition to their role as a Licensed Psychologist and ARMHS Program Manager since August 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Postdoctoral Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and ARMHS Program Manager at the same organization from February 2019 to August 2021.

Before joining Open Cities Health Center, Rachel was a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor at NorthPoint Health & Wellness Center from July 2018 to February 2019. Rachel also served as a Doctoral Intern at the same organization from July 2017 to July 2018.

Rachel's previous experience includes working at Open Cities Health Center as a Behavioral Health Consultant and Licensed Professional Counselor from November 2016 to July 2017. Rachel has also worked at Sexual Violence Center, where they served as an Overnight/Weekend Supervisor from April 2013 to April 2017. In this role, they trained new hires, provided support for crisis line volunteers, and responded to crisis calls and medical advocacies.

Additionally, Rachel has volunteered as a Crisis Line Volunteer at Sexual Violence Center from December 2012 to April 2013. Rachel also worked as a Master's Practicum Student at the same organization from April 2012 to December 2012. In this role, they conducted counseling sessions with victims of sexual assault and supported them through crisis prevention strategies, evidentiary exams, and hospital procedures.

Rachel has also gained experience as a Doctoral Practicum Student at Open Cities Health Center from September 2015 to June 2016, and at Domestic Abuse Project from September 2014 to August 2015. At Domestic Abuse Project, they conducted individual play therapy and group therapy for families experiencing domestic violence.

Before pursuing a career in psychology, Rachel worked as a Front Office Manager at Country Inn & Suites By Carlson from June 2005 to August 2013.

Rachel Freyberger, PsyD, LP began their education at Johnson Senior High School, where they obtained their High School Diploma in the years 2001 to 2005. Rachel then pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Psychology at the University of Minnesota from 2005 to 2009. Following this, they attended Saint Mary's University of Minnesota, earning a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Counseling & Psychological Services between 2010 and 2012. Rachel continued their education at the same institution and completed their Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in Counseling Psychology from 2013 to 2018. Rachel also holds a certification in CPR (BLS Level - Infants, Children, & Adults) obtained in September 2019 from the American Red Cross.
