Sung A Kim

Sung A Kim currently serves as the Global Head of Technology for Data Center Liquid Solutions at bp since May 2024 and co-leads the Women in OCP (WOCP) initiative at the Open Compute Project Foundation since January 2025. Prior experience includes roles at Exxonmobil as a Global Financial Planner and Global Market Development Advisor from January 2018 to May 2024, focusing on immersion cooling fluids for data centers and cryptocurrency. Additional experience encompasses positions as a Product Development Engineer and Senior Research Engineer, as well as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Minnesota and the University of Wisconsin - Madison from February 2015 to February 2017. Sung A Kim earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from Cornell University, where research was conducted from January 2009 to December 2014. Further education includes completion of the Emerging Leadership Program in Business Administration and Management at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2023, along with a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Korea University.
