Astrid Amado

Astrid Amado has a diverse work experience in the field of accounting and finance. Astrid started their career as an Accounts Payable Officer at Plastermart in 2016. In 2019, they joined SmartBooks Canada Consulting Inc as an Accounting Assistant, where they worked until April 2020. At the same time, they also worked as a Financial Support Specialist at Open Door Group from April 2019 to April 2020. Astrid then moved on to become a Financial Contract Administrator at Open Door Group from April 2020 to July 2020 before being promoted to Director of Accounting and Contracts in July 2020. Additionally, from July 2012 to July 2020, Astrid worked at Fitzroy Learning Network, initially as an Administration Officer and then as a Finance Officer.

Astrid Amado is currently a CPA Candidate with the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada). From 2020 to 2022, they attended UBC Sauder School of Business to complete CPA Preparatory Courses in Accounting. Prior to that, in 2015, they obtained a Master's Degree in Accounting from Swinburne University of Technology. In 2013, they received a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, General, also from Swinburne University of Technology. Their earliest education was an Associate's Degree in Business Administration/Finance from Politecnico Grancolombiano, which they completed from 2003 to 2007. Additionally, in 2014, Astrid participated in the CFA Institute Research Challenge as a local participant and obtained a certification from the CFA Institute.
