NVCI Instructor at Open Door Group

May Chow has extensive experience in the field of recreation therapy and crisis intervention. Currently serving as a Member of the Board of Directors at Mount Pleasant Community Centre since October 2022, May also holds a long-term position as an NVCI Instructor at Open Door Group since June 2008, where responsibilities include teaching Non-Violent Crisis Intervention. As a Recreation Therapist at Open Door Group, May focuses on developing and facilitating programs for individuals with concurrent disorders, conducting assessments, creating individual program plans, and managing youth outreach initiatives like the Conquering Waves Dragonboating Team. May previously worked in a similar capacity at Motivation, Power & Achievement Society from May 2005 to October 2008, engaging in adventure therapy excursions. May holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences from Dalhousie University and has further education from Douglas College.
