Rebuilding Lives Center Director at Open Door Mission

Jim Parker has extensive experience in ministry and leadership roles, currently serving as the Rebuilding Lives Center Director, Assistant Director of Men's Ministry, and Program Case Manager at Open Door Mission since November 2021, focusing on men's addiction recovery. From August 2009 to July 2022, Jim served as Senior Pastor at Sojourn Church, where a church was planted in the Mall of the Bluffs to engage with non-believers. Prior experience includes serving as Student Pastor at LifeSpring Church from December 2002 to August 2009, overseeing a large group of students and adult volunteers. Jim's military background includes over 20 years of service in the United States Air Force, specializing in intelligence operations. Educational qualifications include a Master's in Divinity from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and a Bachelor's in Theology from Bethany Bible College and Theological Seminary, along with an Associate's Degree from the Community College of the Air Force.

Open Door Mission

Open Door Mission is a Gospel Rescue Mission committed to breaking the cycle of homelessness and poverty. Each day Open Door Mission’s campus offers 917 safe shelter beds to homeless men, women and children, serves over 3,500 nutritious meals and provides preventive measures to more than 275 people living in poverty. To meet the basic physical needs of the hungry and homeless, the Open Door Mission’s day facility services provide free transportation from the downtown area to Open Door Mission and Lydia House. Open Door Mission offers life-changing programs for those recovering from life-altering addictions and abuse to break the cycle of homelessness and poverty.
