Open Door Mission
Michael Douglas possesses diverse experience across multiple fields, including current positions as a Geo technician at DLZ Corporation and Shelter Manager at Open Door Mission, both held since July 2022 and February 2017, respectively. As the Founder of Guard Play Elite Training since January 2017, Michael has also contributed to basketball coaching as a Student Assistant at Western Michigan University and a High School Basketball Coach at Detroit Public Schools since 2016 and 2014, respectively. Additional roles include Drug Test Assistant for Kalamazoo County Government since May 2016 and a brief position with the United States Department of Defense in 2013. Michael's early career involved child programming at Boys & Girls Clubs of America in 2013. Educational background includes a degree from Western Michigan University (2008-2012) and attendance at Detroit Finney High School (2005-2008).

Open Door Mission
Open Door Mission is a Gospel Rescue Mission committed to breaking the cycle of homelessness and poverty. Each day Open Door Mission’s campus offers 917 safe shelter beds to homeless men, women and children, serves over 3,500 nutritious meals and provides preventive measures to more than 275 people living in poverty. To meet the basic physical needs of the hungry and homeless, the Open Door Mission’s day facility services provide free transportation from the downtown area to Open Door Mission and Lydia House. Open Door Mission offers life-changing programs for those recovering from life-altering addictions and abuse to break the cycle of homelessness and poverty.
